(a) The Mayor is hereby authorized to compile a list of persons designed to work as Assistant Jailors and to be hired on a part-time basis.

(b) Said Assistant Jailors shall not be permitted to be employed for more than forty hours per week and shall be paid at a rate determined by Council from time to time.

(c) A successful applicant for the position of Assistant Jailor shall have attained the minimum age of eighteen years.
(d) The initial list shall consist of twenty persons who shall receive work assignments as set forth by the Mayor and/or Chief Jailor.

(e) Assistant Jailors shall be paid time and one-half for hours worked on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
(f) Part-time Assistant Jailors will be paid a minimum of two hours "report for duty pay." However, if said employees are notified eight hours in advance, there will be no report for duty pay paid.
