230.04AUTHORITY TO ACCEPT CASH AND PROPERTY.
   (a)   Mandatory Drug Fines.
      (1)   The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to accept cash from the mandatory drug fines imposed on convicted drug offenders in accordance with the provisions of Ohio R.C. 2925.03(J) and (K) and Chapter 622 of these Codified Ordinances.
      (2)   The Mayor is hereby directed to place all cash received into a special law enforcement mandatory drug fine fund with the Clerk-Treasurer to be used solely for the Police Department's law enforcement efforts pertaining to drug offenses. Said fund shall be separate and apart from other special funds established.

   (b)   Drug Penalty Act of 1984.
      (1)   The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to accept cash and other tangible personal property from the United States Government in accordance with the comprehensive Drug Penalty Act of 1984. However, any acceptance of real estate by the Mayor shall be subject to approval by ordinance of Council.
      (2)   The Mayor is hereby directed to place all cash received into a special fund with the Clerk-Treasurer to be used solely for law enforcement purposes.
      (3)   All tangible personal property shall be brass tagged or become an asset to the Police Department to be used solely for law enforcement purposes.

   (c)   Contraband Seizure Forfeiture Act.
      (1)   The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to accept cash, vehicles and other property in accordance with the Contraband Seizure Forfeiture Act, Ohio R.C. 2933.43. However, any acceptance of real estate by the Mayor shall be subject to approval by ordinance of Council.
      (2)   The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to accept all cash received into a special law enforcement trust fund with the Clerk-Treasurer to be used solely for law enforcement purposes. Said fund shall be separate and apart from other special funds established.
      (3)   All vehicles and property shall be assetted or brass tagged to the Police Department to be used solely for law enforcement purposes, or sold and the proceeds from the sale deposited in the special law enforcement trust fund, as directed by the Chief of Police.
