(A) Commercial or industrial structures protected by an automatic alarm system or automatic suppression system, or such structures that are secured in a manner that restricts access during an emergency, shall be equipped with an approved KnoxBox brand key lockbox at or near the main entrance or such other location required by the City Fire Department.
(B) All newly constructed structures subject to this section shall have the approved KnoxBox brand key lockbox installed and operational prior to the issuance of an occupancy permit.
(C) All structures in existence on the effective date of this section and subject to this section shall have three years from the effective date of this section to have a KnoxBox brand key lockbox installed and operational.
(D) When a property is accessed through a locked fence, a locked gate or cross arm that impedes ingress through required fire lanes by means of a key or swipe card, it shall be equipped with a KnoxBox brand key lockbox at a location approved by the City Fire Department or shall be equipped with a security padlock utilizing a key code approved by the City Fire Department.
(E) The owner or operator of a structure required to have a KnoxBox brand key lockbox shall at all times keep in the lockbox the following:
(1) Labeled keys to locked points of entry, whether in interior or exterior of such buildings;
(2) Labeled keys to any locked mechanical rooms;
(3) Labeled keys to any fenced or secured areas;
(4) Labeled keys to any other areas that may be required by the City Fire Department; and
(5) A card containing the names of emergency contact persons and phone numbers for each such person.
(F) Owner-occupied one- and two-family dwellings may install a KnoxBox brand key lockbox but shall not be required to do so.
