No person other than the property owner or occupant shall carry, possess or discharge any bow, crossbow, blowgun or springdrive, compressed air or CO 2 -powered rifle or pistol on private property without maintaining in their possession written permission of the property owner or occupant. Violation of NMSA §§ 30-3-8, 30-7-2, 30-7-2.2, 30-7-3, 30-7-4, 30-7-13, as may be amended, or any other provision of law relating to firearm safety, shall constitute a violation of this section. This section shall not apply to a commissioned law enforcement officer in the lawful performance of the officer's official duties.
