§ 6-1-3 DEPARTMENT DUTIES.
   It shall be the duty of the members of the Police Department to enforce all the laws of the town and all statutes of the state applicable thereto, to preserve order and prevent infractions of the law and arrest violators thereof, to serve and execute any process directed to the Chief of Police, and to perform any police service which the Chief of Police might lawfully do.
