There shall be established a seven (7) member planning and environmental commission appointed by the council. Members of the planning and environmental commission shall be residents of the town of Vail and registered electors. The terms of appointment to the planning commission shall be two (2) years on an overlapping basis. The functions of the planning and environmental commission shall be defined by ordinance and include but not be limited to aesthetic, architectural, environmental and ecological coordination and planning relating to the enhancement and the preservation of the quality of life.
