171.09 MAYOR’S COURT MAGISTRATE; TEMPORARY MAGISTRATE.
   (a)   Mayor’s Court Magistrate. The Mayor shall appoint a qualified Magistrate to conduct Mayor’s Court, who shall meet the educational requirements of Mayor’s Court Rule 3, “Ohio Mayor’s Court Education and Procedure Rules”.
   (b)   Compensation. The Magistrate shall be compensated on a contractual basis, pursuant to the Magistrate’s contract with the Village, and shall not be entitled to further compensation or benefit from the Village.
   (c)   Temporary Mayor’s Court Magistrate.
      (1)   In the event of absence or disability of the Mayor’s Court Magistrate, the Mayor may appoint a temporary Mayor’s Court Magistrate to serve temporarily for a specific session of Mayor’s Court.
      (2)   The Mayor shall, with the concurrence of Council, prepare and maintain a list of persons qualified to act as Mayor’s Court Magistrate and who have indicated a willingness to serve as temporary Mayor’s Court Magistrate, from which to make appointment of temporary magistrates.
      (3)   A temporary Mayor’s Court Magistrate shall receive as compensation for his/her services a flat fee per session, on a contractual basis, to be the same amount as the Mayor’s Court Magistrate is paid per session, and the temporary Magistrate shall not be entitled to further compensation or benefit from the Village.
