§ 160.28 REQUIRED OPEN SPACE AND LANDSCAPING.
   (A)   Open space that is required by this Code shall be not be used for or encumbered by any structure or impervious material except for permitted pedestrian walks and courts, and shall be landscaped and well-maintained with grass or other acceptable ground cover, trees and shrubs.
   (B)   Trees and shrubs shall be provided at a minimum ratio of two trees and six shrubs for every 2,500 square feet of required open space excluding required buffer yards and landscaped setbacks, with a minimum of two trees and six shrubs, and shall be maintained in perpetuity.
   (C)   Plantings that are required for buffer yards, landscaped setbacks or other screening shall not be counted towards compliance with these requirements.
   (D)   Plant materials that die due to third-party vandalism, disease, storm damage or natural causes shall be replaced in accordance with this section, whether required for general landscaping, buffer yard or landscaped setback. Plant materials that are removed, or that die because of lack of care or maintenance, neglect or willful damage shall be replaced with new plant materials that are equivalent in caliper inches. It shall be the duty of the property owner to provide reasonable proof of death due to vandalism, disease, storm damage or natural causes.
   (E)   Plant material species and minimum sizes shall comply with § 160.27(F)(2) and (F)(3).
