The permit holder shall be responsible for removing all telephone and electric wires, gas, water and electric meters before starting work. The City Water Utility shall be called to oversee disconnection of water service lines to its specifications. The Engineering and Public Works Department shall be called to oversee disconnection of the sanitary sewer service line in accordance with city specifications. If a septic tank is on the property it shall be pumped dry, and demolished, unless the City Engineer and Department of Health deem it acceptable to leave the tank in place and fill it with sand in lieu of demolition or complete removal. Any wells on the property shall be filled or capped, according to state or local regulations. All basement excavations shall be filled with inert, inorganic materials.
