§ 90.54 ISSUANCE OF LICENSE; EVIDENCE OF VACCINATION; VICIOUS ANIMAL INSURANCE.
   (A)   The contractor shall issue dog and cat licenses when properly applied for and shall require evidence of rabies vaccination as herein provided. The rabies vaccination required shall be an injection of anti-rabies vaccine approved by the State Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, and the frequency of re-vaccination necessary for approved vaccinations shall be established by that State Department. The vaccine shall be administered by a licensed veterinarian and shall be given as approved by the State Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. The veterinarian shall issue a tag with the certificate of vaccination, and the tag shall at all times be attached to the collar of the dog or cat.
   (B)   The owner of a vicious animal as defined in this chapter shall, at the time of procuring a license under this division (B), or within 30 calendar days from the date the animal has been declared vicious, whichever occurs first, provide to the City Clerk an insurance policy or a certificate of insurance issued by an insurance company licensed to do business in the state, providing personal liability insurance coverage as in a homeowner's policy, with a minimum liability, set by resolution approved by the City Council. The vicious animal owner shall be obligated to provide proof of the existence of the insurance policy or certificate of insurance each year the owner applies for a license. The insurance policy or certificate of insurance referred to in this division (B) shall provide that it cannot be canceled or terminated until ten business days written notice by registered mail of such cancellation or termination shall have been received by the City Manager or designee. The cancellation or other termination of any insurance policy, issued in compliance with this division (B), shall automatically revoke and terminate the licenses under this division (B), unless another insurance policy, complying with this division (B), shall be provided and in effect at the time of such cancellation or termination. The City Manager or designee shall immediately issue written notification of the revocation of said certificate and all licenses issued under this division (B).
