§ 33.62  ACCREDITATION REQUIRED.
   (A)   The Urbandale Police Department’s accreditation process assures the Department’s managerial and operational policies and procedures are in accordance with nationally recognized professional standards.  Accreditation also assures the Urbandale community the Police Department is committed to providing the highest quality services that are not only effective and responsive, but always fair and equitable.  Accreditation enhances the community’s understanding, cooperation and support of the Police Department.
   (B)   The Urbandale Police Department shall be an accredited law enforcement agency through CALEA and shall be required to maintain the standards of CALEA accreditation at all times.  If CALEA accreditation is no longer available as an option, the Police Department shall acquire an alternative national or state sanctioned law enforcement accreditation meeting similar standards.
