§ 33.61 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   CALEA. Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.
   LAW ENFORCEMENT ACCREDITATION. Any program recognized within the law enforcement community at the national or state level as certifying, endorsing, or sanctioning a law enforcement agency for meeting a recognizable set of standards, policies, procedures and practices that reflect the best practices within the profession. Accreditation shall incorporate an independent review or assessment of the law enforcement agency to ensure continued compliance with said standards, policies, procedures and practices.
