The boundaries of election precincts are hereby designated within the City of Urbandale, Iowa as described in this section. For the purposes hereof, all references to streets or creeks and drainageways shall be the centerlines of such streets or channel of such creeks and drainageways as they currently exist unless specifically designated otherwise, and all references to corporate boundaries shall mean the corporate boundaries as they currently exist or may hereafter be established by annexation of additional territory.
(A) Urbandale Precinct 1. Beginning at the intersection of 72nd Street and Meredith Drive; then north on 72nd Street to the north corporate limits; then east along the north corporate limits to the east corporate limits; then south along the east corporate limits to the intersection of Merle Hay Road and Meredith Drive; then west on Meredith Drive to its intersection with 72nd Street and to the point of beginning.
(B) Urbandale Precinct 2. Beginning at the intersection of 86th Street and Meredith Drive; then north on 86th Street to the north corporate limits; then east along the north corporate limits to 72nd Street; then south on 72nd Street and its southerly extension to Aurora Avenue; then west on Aurora Avenue to its intersection with 75th Street; then north on 75th Street to its intersection with Meredith Drive; then west on Meredith Drive to its intersection with 86th Street and to the point of beginning.
(C) Urbandale Precinct 3. Beginning at the intersection of 86th Street and Meredith Drive; then north on 86th Street to the north corporate limits; then west along the north corporate limits to the western boundary of the Johnston Community School District; then south along the western boundary of the Johnston Community School District to the southern boundary of the Johnston Community School District and its intersection with Meredith Drive; then east on Meredith Drive to its intersection with 86th Street and to the point of beginning.
(D) Urbandale Precinct 4. Beginning at the intersection of 112th Street and Aurora Avenue; then north on 112th Street to its intersection with Meredith Drive; then west on Meredith Drive to the west boundary of the Johnston Community School District; then north along the west boundary of the Johnston Community School District to the north corporate limits; then west along the north corporate limits to the west corporate limits, one-quarter mile to the west of 128th Street; then south and west along the west corporate limits to the county line; then south along the county line to its intersection with Douglas Parkway; then east on Douglas Parkway and Douglas Avenue to its intersection with the east boundary of the Dallas-Center Grimes School District north of Douglas Avenue; then north along the east boundary of the Dallas-Center Grimes School District to its intersection with 114th Street; then continuing north along the east boundary of the Dallas-Center Grimes School District and 114th Street to its intersection with Aurora Avenue; then east on Aurora Avenue to its intersection with 112th Street and to the point of beginning.
(E) Urbandale Precinct 5. Beginning at the intersection of 72nd Street and Meredith Drive; then south on 72nd Street to its intersection with Aurora Avenue; then east on Aurora Avenue to its intersection with 70th Street; then south on 70th Street to its intersection with Douglas Avenue; then east on Douglas Avenue to the east corporate limits; then north along the east corporate limits to its intersection with Meredith Drive; then west on Meredith Drive to its intersection with 72nd Street and to the point of beginning.
(F) Urbandale Precinct 6. Beginning at the southern intersection of 86th Street and Aurora Avenue; then south on 86th Street to its intersection with Douglas Avenue; then east on Douglas Avenue to its intersection with 70th Street; then north on 70th Street to its intersection with Aurora Avenue; then west on Aurora Avenue to its intersection with 86th Street and to the point of beginning.
(G) Urbandale Precinct 7. Beginning at the intersection of Meredith Drive and 75th Street; then west on Meredith Drive to a point approximately 840 feet west of 94th Street at the intersection of a drainageway that is locally known as North Walnut Creek and Meredith Drive; then south along North Walnut Creek to its intersection with Aurora Avenue, approximately 380 feet west of 92nd Street; then east on Aurora Avenue to its intersection with 86th Street; then south on 86th Street to its intersection with Aurora Avenue; then east on Aurora Avenue to its intersection with 75th Street; then north on 75th Street to its intersection with Meredith Drive and to the point of beginning.
(H) Urbandale Precinct 8. Beginning at the intersection of 112th Street and Meredith Drive; then east on Meredith Drive to a point approximately 210 feet east of 95th Street at the intersection of a drainageway that is locally known as North Walnut Creek and Meredith Drive; then south along North Walnut Creek to its intersection with Aurora Avenue, approximately 380 feet west of 92nd Street; then east on Aurora Avenue to its intersection with 86th Street; then south on 86th Street to its intersection with Douglas Avenue; then west on Douglas Avenue to its intersection with the west boundary of the Urbandale Community School District, being near the intersection of the Interstate 35/80 north/east bound on and off ramps at Douglas Avenue; then north along the west boundary of the Urbandale Community School District to the intersection of 114th Street with Aurora Avenue; then east on Aurora Avenue to its intersection with 112th Street; then north on 112th Street to its intersection with Meredith Drive and to the point of beginning.
(I) Urbandale Precinct 9. Beginning at the intersection of Douglas Avenue and 83rd Street; then south on 83rd Street to its intersection with Colby Woods Drive; then south on Colby Woods Drive to its intersection with the south boundary of the Urbandale Community School District; then east along the south boundary of the Urbandale Community School District until it intersects with the east corporate limits south of Urbandale Avenue near Rocklyn Creek; then continuing east along Urbandale Avenue and the south corporate limits to the east corporate limits north of Urbandale Avenue; then north along the east corporate limits to its intersection with Douglas Avenue; then west on Douglas Avenue to its intersection with 83rd Street and to the point of beginning.
(J) Urbandale Precinct 10. Beginning at the intersection of Douglas Avenue and 83rd Street; then south on 83rd Street to its intersection with Colby Woods Drive; then south on Colby Woods Drive to its intersection with the south boundary of the Urbandale Community School District; then west along the south boundary of the Urbandale Community School District to the west boundary of the Urbandale Community School District and the county line; then north along the county line to its intersection with Douglas Parkway; then east on Douglas Parkway and Douglas Avenue to its intersection with 83rd Street and to the point of beginning.
(K) Urbandale Precinct 11. Beginning at the intersection of 86th Street and Urbandale Avenue; then south on 86th Street to its intersection with Hickman Road and the south corporate limits; then east along Hickman Road and the south corporate limits to the east corporate limits north of Hickman Road; then north along the east corporate limits to its intersection with Urbandale Avenue and the south boundary of the Urbandale Community School District near Rocklyn Creek; then west along the south boundary of the Urbandale Community School District Boundary to its intersection with 86th Street, being the intersection of 86th Street and Urbandale Avenue and to the point of beginning.
(L) Urbandale Precinct 12. Beginning at the intersection of 86th Street and Urbandale Avenue; then south on 86th Street to its intersection with Hickman Road and the south corporate limits; then west on Hickman Road and the south corporate limits to its intersection with 142nd Street and the county line; then north along the county line to the south boundary of the Urbandale Community School District; then east along the south boundary of the Urbandale Community School District to its intersection with 86th Street, being the intersection of 86th Street and Urbandale Avenue and to the point of beginning.
(M) Urbandale Precinct 13. Said precinct to be part of a combined precinct titled Grimes – Precinct 5 in accordance with a Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Grimes, Polk County, and the City of Urbandale. Beginning at the intersection of 142nd Street and Meredith Drive; then east on Meredith Drive to the east corporate limits, one-half mile to the east of 142nd Street; then north along the said east corporate limits to the north corporate limits, one-half mile to the east of 142nd Street; then west along the north corporate limits to 142nd Street; then south along 142nd Street to its intersection with Meredith Drive and to the point of beginning; and any and all portions of land currently being part of the City of Grimes, that may be severed from the City of Grimes and annexed into the City of Urbandale at some future date in accordance with an Annexing Moratorium Agreement between the two cities.
(N) Urbandale Precinct 14. All territory in the City of Urbandale and in Dallas County that lies south of Douglas Parkway and east of 156th Street.
(O) Urbandale Precinct 15. All territory in the City of Urbandale and in Dallas County that lies south of Meredith Drive, east of 156th Street, and north of Douglas Parkway.
(P) Urbandale Precinct 16. All territory in the City of Urbandale and in Dallas County that lies north of Meredith Drive and east of 156th Street, and all territory within such boundaries that may be annexed in the future.
(Q) Urbandale Precinct 17. All territory in the City of Urbandale and in Dallas County that lies north of Meredith Drive and west of 156th Street, and all territory within such boundaries that may be annexed in the future.
(R) Urbandale Precinct 18. All territory in the City of Urbandale and in Dallas County that lies south of Meredith Drive and west of 156th Street.
