There is hereby created the office of Auditor. The Auditor shall be the head of the Department of Finance.
The Auditor shall be appointed by the Mayor which appointment shall be confirmed by a majority vote of the members of Council. The Auditor shall hold office until said Auditor's successor is appointed and qualified.
The Mayor may remove the Auditor from office without cause with the consent of a majority of the members of Council.
The Auditor may be removed from office, without cause, by the affirmative vote of six (6) of the members elected to Council, without the consent of the Mayor.
The salary of the Auditor shall be fixed by ordinance passed by Council and may be increased or decreased by Council at any time.
