There is hereby created the office of Law Director who shall head the Department of Law.
The Law Director shall be appointed by the Mayor which appointment shall be confirmed by a majority vote of the members of Council.
The Law Director's term of office shall be during the term of office of the Mayor.
The Mayor may remove the Law Director from office, without cause, with the consent of a majority of the members of Council, or the Law Director may be removed from office, without cause, by the affirmative vote of six (6) of the members elected to Council, without the consent of the Mayor.
The salary of the Law Director shall be fixed by ordinance passed by the Council and may be increased or decreased by Council at any time. (Amended November 8, 2022.)
