§ 33.15 POLICY.
   The Board of Supervisors establishes the following policy to address the requirement of Act 27 of 2008, being 35 P.S. §§ 637.1 et seq., known as the Clean Indoor Air Act (CIAA).
   (A)   Smoking shall be prohibited in all township owned and regulated buildings.
   (B)   Smoking shall be prohibited in all township vehicles if a second person is present within the vehicle.
   (C)   Township staff shall post and maintain the proper signage on all township owned and regulated buildings.
   (D)   Employees, visitors or volunteers that smoke outside of a township regulated building or vehicle shall properly dispose of butts rather than littering.
   (E)   This policy shall become part of the Employee Handbook and Employment Policy.
   (F)   Violations of this policy by employees will be handled in accordance with the provisions in the Employee’s Handbook and Employment Policy.
   (G)   If a visitor, customer or volunteer of the township violates this policy, they must be asked by any township employee to comply with the state law and to extinguish the smoking media and to properly dispose of the same.
   (H)   Employees are to be made aware of their responsibilities as public representatives to inform the general public, volunteers and others of this state law and the procedure of how to file a complaint regarding a potential violation of the Clean Indoor Air Act (CIAA), being 35 P.S. §§ 637.1 et seq., through the completion of a violation report form in § 33.16 and is part of this policy.
   (I)   Employees, volunteers and customers are also informed that they are protected from any and all forms of retaliation for reporting a violation of the law covering current and prospective employees, customers and volunteers.
   (J)   This policy will be made available to anyone who requests it in writing.
   (K)   All employees shall receive and acknowledge receipt of a copy of this policy.
