§ 212-18.   Sidewalks.

   A.   Where required.
      (1)   Sidewalks shall be provided along all excepting where, in the opinion of the , they are unnecessary for the public safety and convenience, and where it can be demonstrated that the objectives of Chapter 206, Article XI, Low-Impact Development Practices for Managing Stormwater , and § 255-205 of the Preservation District will be furthered.       (2)   In with common areas, sidewalks shall be located appropriately to serve as access between parking areas and and in common areas to serve as internal circulation.
      (3)   Sidewalks, a minimum of five feet wide shall connect all handicapped parking areas to entrances, wherever practical. [Added 6-14-2011 by Ord. No. 11-1240]
   B.   Width. Sidewalks shall not be less than five feet in width in residential areas. A greater width may be required in areas in which apartments or business are located, or deemed necessary at the discretion of the .    C.   On public , sidewalks shall be located between the curb and line. In all districts sidewalks crossing must be compliant with ADA regulations. Sidewalks in the DO Dresher Overlay District shall be located six feet from the curb or if no curb is present, and a planting strip shall be placed between the edge of the curb or and edge of sidewalk.    D.    . not less than 10 feet wide and with concrete or asphalt paving not less than four feet wide may be required where necessary to provide access to schools, churches, parks and commercial areas. They shall be maintained by the abutting property owners in the same manner as sidewalks on public .
   E.   Sidewalks shall be constructed in accordance with the Standards. 11 1
   F.   The following sidewalk and configurations shall apply along Norristown Road, Welsh Road and Limekiln Pike in the Maple Glen Overlay District, subject to PennDOT approval: [Added 9-14-2004 by Ord. No. 1136]
