§ 111.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   PEDDLER. Any person who, on foot or by vehicle, sells or offers for sale goods, wares, merchandise or services directly to a consumer for immediate delivery or performance, either by going from house to house for the purpose of selling such goods or services or by selling such goods or services in any public place.
   SOLICITOR. Any person who solicits or attempts to solicit from house to house or upon the public street donations or an order for goods, subscriptions, merchandise or services to be delivered or performed at a future date. Permanent residents of the town, local students, local fraternal organizations, local church groups, local charitable organizations and local governmental units are exempt from this chapter.
   TRANSIENT MERCHANT. As defined by I.C. 25-37-1-2 et seq.
