(a) A permit shall be required to maintain, store, or handle liquids, gases, solids, materials or articles which produce conditions hazardous to life or property or to install equipment used in connection with such activities wherever specified in the adopted Fire Prevention Code.

(b) An application for a permit shall be submitted to the Bureau of Fire Prevention along with a $25.00 permit fee, except that no fee is required for a business, operation or installation which is otherwise permitted or licensed by the City for a fee, and no fee is required for a place of assembly for religious, educational, charitable or welfare purposes.
(c) The permit shall expire on December 31, of the year of issuance and is renewable annually for one calendar year upon payment of a renewal fee of $25.00.

(d) The permit must be approved by the Chief of the Bureau of Fire Prevention, and such approval shall be noted on the application prior to the issuance of the permit. The Chief of the Bureau of Fire Prevention may require an applicant to file a bond in such an amount as he deems adequate to cover all damages which might result from such business, operation or installation. A permit may be denied when the Chief of the Bureau of Fire Prevention considers the business, operation or installation as unduly hazardous to life or property.
