844.01 DEFINITIONS.
   (a)   "Casual parking place" means any parking place as herein defined but operated for a limited time only, and in no event for more than ten days in any one year.
   (b)   "Director" means the Director of Public Safety.
   (c)   "Operator" means any licensee licensed to operate a parking place under the terms and provisions of this chapter.
   (d)   "Parking place" means any garage or other building, or any plot, piece, or parcel of land which is regularly used for the parking or storing of motor vehicles as, in connection with, or by the patrons of, a place of business in or adjacent to the City, whether or not a fee is charged therefor; and whether or not persons or occupants of such motor vehicles are permitted to remain in such motor vehicles, but excluding the renting of private garages. "Storing" as used in this definition refers to licensed motor vehicles parked inside a building, or outside on the premises for a temporary period not to exceed 48 hours, and permitted outside storage shall not include dead storage of any motor vehicle or parts thereof, nor the storage or parking for the purpose of selling.
   (e)   "Person" means any individual, partnership, firm, association or corporation.
   (f)   "Receiving station" means any garage or parking lot which is guarded by an attendant at all times and to which a car may be removed, under the regulations and requirements herein set forth, when not called for by the owner before the hour of closing of a parking lot, or before the hour at which such parking lot becomes unattended, as set forth in this chapter.
   (g)   "Sign" means any durable and legible sign, the letters of which shall be not less than three inches or more than five inches in height, and which shall be erected in a conspicuous place. In outdoor parking places such signs shall be not less than eight feet nor more than 12 feet above sidewalk level, and shall be securely fastened. Such signs shall not bear any advertising or other matter than the information required by this chapter.
