(a) No person shall carry on or about his or her person a knife having a blade of two and one-half inches in length or longer, knuckles or a billy or any other device intended to be used as a weapon. However, upon any trial for a violation of this section, the defendant shall be acquitted if the court finds that he or she was at the time engaged in a lawful business, employment or occupation and that the circumstances in which he or she was placed justified a prudent person in possessing such a weapon for the defense of his or her person, property or family.
(b) No person shall possess, sell, exhibit for sale or carry on or about his or her person any tear gas gun or other mechanical or aerosol propellant device designed for the purpose of shooting or dispensing gas or liquid likely to produce bodily harm to another person.
(Ord. 65-35. Passed 6-21-1965.)
(c) Whoever violates any of the provisions of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree.
