432.45 FUNERAL ESCORT VEHICLE REGULATIONS.
   (a)   A funeral escort vehicle equipped with and using an oscillating or flashing yellow light on its roof and with headlights lighted shall be considered part of the funeral procession which it is escorting and shall have the same right of way as any other car in the funeral procession.
   (b)   Except with regard to such additional right of way, no person, firm or corporation being the owner, lessee or operator of a funeral escort vehicle within the boundaries of the City shall cause such vehicle to be operated in violation of any section of the Traffic Code. The owner, lessee or operator shall be responsible for such operation even if the automobile is actually in control of and being driven by an employee in contravention of the employer's orders. It shall be prima facie evidence of a violation of this section if an automobile registered to such person, firm or corporation was in close proximity to and accompanying a funeral procession and otherwise violating a section of the Traffic Code.
   (c)   Any police officer of the City who finds a violation of the section shall have the option of immediately stopping the escort vehicle for the purpose of identifying and subsequently charging the driver thereof with a violation of the Traffic Code or such officer may allow the funeral procession and escort vehicle to continue and cause to be filed with the Prosecutor an affidavit stating the facts on which a violation of this section is charged, after which summons may issue.
