921.31 TESTING AND REPAIRING METERS.
The Water Department reserves the right to remove a meter from any premises and substitute another meter in its place for the purpose of making repairs or testing. The Water Department will, on its own initiative undertake to test any meter which in its judgment is registering incorrectly without charge to the owner. When a meter is removed and tested upon the request of a consumer, a charge of ten dollars ($10.00) shall be made for such service. The Superintendent of Water and Wastewater is authorized to delete such charge in the event that upon the testing of such meter the meter is found not to meet the standards of ninety-eight and one-half percent (98.5%) to one hundred and one and one-half percent (101.5%) accuracy as set forth in the American Water Works Association Specification C-700-61T, section 19.
