(a) The owner, occupant or person having the care of any building or lot of land bordering on any street with graded or paved sidewalk, within the first twelve hours after daylight, following or during a fall of snow, shall cause the snow to be removed from such walk. This includes snow or ice falling from any building.
(b) Whenever such sidewalk or any part thereof shall become encumbered with ice, the owner, occupant or person in control, within the first twelve hours after daylight, following or during its formation, shall cause such sidewalk to be made safe by removing such ice or sprinkling the same with sand or other suitable substance.
(c) The owner, occupant or person having the care of any building or lot of land bordering on any street wherein adjacent to such building or lot there is located any fire hydrant, shall keep the fire hydrant so free of ice and snow as not to interfere in any way with the use and function of such fire hydrant.
(d) No person, in removing any ice and snow from any private or public property, shall cause or permit any ice and snow to remain or accumulate on any street, sidewalk, driveway or alley entrance, or other public right of way or part thereof.
(e) No person, in removing any ice and snow from any private or public property, shall cause or permit such ice and snow to interfere in any way with the use and function of any stop sign, traffic or parking sign, or any type of traffic signal or device, or the visual obstruction of traffic or with any fire hydrant or with the snow removal operations of the City or the Department of Transportation.
(f) This section shall not apply to the snow removal operations of the City or the State Department of Transportation. (Ord. 447. Passed 2-13-78.)
(g) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
