A person who seeks to become a candidate for an elected office shall execute and file a declaration of candidacy. The declaration shall be executed under oath before the City Clerk or a person empowered by law to administer oaths, on a form provided by the City Clerk. A declaration of candidacy shall be filed with the City Clerk no later than 45 days prior to the election.
