This concurrence shall be obtained before beginning the pertinent course of study. The Department Director shall render their decision on this matter prior to the commencement of the requested class. The employee shall also sign an agreement that the reimbursed tuition will be returned to the city in the event of separation from city employment within 12 months from the date of completion of the course. Upon successful completion of the course involved, the employee shall furnish their Department Director with evidence of successful completion and amount of the course fee.
