"Code enforcement officer" means a person who is hired or appointed by the city to enforce violations of city ordinances. A code enforcement officer is authorized to issue citations for the commission of city ordinance violation, including civil violations classified under any section or provisions of this code or Oregon Revised Statutes 153.008(1)(c). This authorization does not exclude or limit other law enforcement officers listed in Oregon Revised Statutes 153.005(1) from also issuing citations for the commission of city ordinance violations.
