8-1-1: DEFINITIONS:
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
CITY: Uintah City, a municipal corporation created and existing under the laws of the state of Utah.
CONNECTION: Creating a physical connection to an existing water main in order to supply one or more structures with water from the system.
CUSTOMER: A person receiving water service from the system. Customers will usually be property owners, although tenants may become customers as described in this chapter.
DEPARTMENT: The water department of Uintah City.
INSTALLATION: The laying, seating or placement of additional water lines or mains in public rights of way or other approved locations and connecting them to the system.
PROPERTY OWNER: The record owner of real property within the city as shown in the records of the Weber County recorder's office, which receives water service from the system.
SERVICE: The provision of culinary water to one or more structures within the city.
SUPERINTENDENT: The person appointed by the mayor, with the advice and consent of the city council, to manage and supervise the system as described in this chapter.
SYSTEM: The city culinary water system as currently constructed and as expanded after the effective date hereof. The system includes service line from the public water system. If a meter is installed at the end of the service, then the meter is included. After the supplied water has passed through the service connection, it is no longer under the control of the city.
