905.02 CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS.
   (a)   Sidewalks constructed within the City limits shall be made four feet wide and so as to aline with the inside edge, that is the edge away from the street with adjacent lots.
 
   (b)   Across the width of new sidewalk construction every effort shall be made to make the transition from the new sidewalk to the adjacent sidewalks smooth for the benefit of pedestrians.
 
   (c)   All sidewalks shall be broom finished.
 
   (d)   All sidewalks must be ramped at alleys, drives and streets as per attachment #1 to Ordinance 1461.
 
   (e)   If a walk is narrowed, curb strip utility boxes must be set to new grade. If the utility box is located on a walk, a check must be made with the utility company to determine their standards.
 
   (f)   All sidewalks must be concrete with base as specified in attachment #2 to Ordinance 1461.
   (g)   All effort must be made where trees exist and are a problem, that root growth be cut away to help eliminate future trouble.
   (h)   No public sidewalk shall be covered as lawn strip or removed.
   (i)   Where a sidewalk is part of a driveway the concrete must be six inches with a four inch base.
   (j)   All sidewalks shall meet requirements as outlined in attachments #1 and #2 to Ordinance 1461.
   (k)   All curb walks, in conjunction with sidewalks, shall be twenty-four inches in width, from the inside of the curb. (Ord. 1461 Passed 3-26-82.)
   (l)   The street side of sidewalks shall be a minimum of one and one-half inches higher than the curb.
   (m)   The level of new sidewalks shall conform to the level of existing sidewalks adjacent to each end of the new construction.
   (n)   The leveling of sidewalks is to conform to the contour of the adjacent street.
   (o)   Steel reinforcements may be used in the walks on suspended sidewalks or other circumstances directed by the Service Director. Reinforcement shall be separately contained in each section in order to enable a partial opening of the sidewalk for utility and other purposes.
   (p)   The Service Director shall have final approval of all sidewalk installations. (Ord. 1518. Passed 10-27-83.)
