The Mayor may suspend any license during its effective period upon evidence furnished by any of the residents of the City so called upon by such license holder to any misrepresentations, or undue pressure being applied to residents by any salesmen or solicitor, and such suspension shall continue until such time as such accusations have been investigated by the Mayor. Upon the completion of the investigation the Mayor may permanently cancel the license if found necessary to do so in order to protect the residents of the city from misrepresentations and/or undue pressure.
