145.03  AUXILIARY POLICE DEPARTMENT.
   (a)   There is hereby established an Auxiliary Police Department, the personnel of which shall be City residents.  Applicants must pass a physical before being accepted and be a minimum of twenty-one years of age.  It shall be established within the Police Department of the City in accordance with Ohio R.C. 737.051 that a minimum of six members of the auxiliary police shall be maintained under the jurisdiction of the Police Department.
   (b)   The Chief of Police shall have exclusive control of the station and transfer of all patrolmen, auxiliary police officers, other officers and employees of the auxiliary police unit under such general rules and regulations as the Director of Public Safety prescribes in accordance with Ohio R.C. 737.06.

   (c)   The City may hire qualified applicants for open positions in the Police Auxiliary, from within the Claymont School District.
