2-3-9: ARBOR DAY:
In Idaho, the last Friday in April has been designated as Arbor Day. The county tree board will, though grants, funding from local sources, and county parks assistance, select a date, purchase trees, elect a site or location in the county, and host an Arbor Day event. The site will be selected through three (3) initial criteria: a) a city that does not yet have tree city USA status, b) a newly installed county park facility or trail, or c) an area within the community where damage, either storm, accident, or vandalism has left it devoid of trees. The board of commissioners for Twin Falls County will officially proclaim and observe this selected day as Twin Falls County Arbor Day. (Ord. 197, 6-18-2007)
