The operator of a motorcycle, motor driven cycle, or motorized pedicyle and every passenger thereon shall be protected by glasses, goggles, or a transparent shield. The Department of Transportation, State of Illinois, shall determine the standards for this equipment. These standards shall establish requirements based upon those set forth in Vehicle Equipment Safety Commission Regulation VESC-8, “Minimum Requirements for Motor Cyclist’s Eye Protection.”
