§ 31.43 ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY.
   The City Attorney may, in case of temporary absence or otherwise being unable to attend to the duties of his office, with the consent of the Mayor, appoint some competent attorney to act in his place. The City Council may authorize the retaining of Assistant Counsel, when deemed expedient, and the compensation of this Assistant Counsel shall be fixed and determined by the City Council.
