§ 31.40 CITY ATTORNEY.
   There is created the office of City Attorney. The City Attorney shall hold his office for the term of one year and until his successor shall be appointed and qualified. The City Attorney shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council at the first regular meeting of the Council, and his term of office shall commence May 1. The City Attorney shall be a duly licensed attorney in good standing in all courts of the state.
