(A) Elections for city officials shall be held as provided by statute, and at the time prescribed by statute.
(B) The manner of conducting elections and the voting thereat, the keeping of the poll lists and the canvassing of the votes by the judges thereof shall be the same, as nearly as may be, as provided under the general election laws of the state.
