ORDINANCE NO. 2019-O-1

   AN ORDINANCE ENACTING AND ADOPTING A SUPPLEMENT TO THE

   CODE OF ORDINANCES FOR THE CITY OF TUSCOLA, ILLINOIS

   PREAMBLE

   WHEREAS, American Legal Publishing Corporation of Cincinnati, Ohio has completed the 2018 S-35 supplement to the Code of Ordinances of the City of Tuscola, which supplement contains all ordinances of a general and permanent nature enacted since the prior supplement to the Code of Ordinances of the City of Tuscola; and

   WHEREAS, American Legal Publishing Corporation has recommended the revision or addition of certain sections of the Code of Ordinances which are based on or make reference to sections of the State of Illinois code; and

   WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Tuscola City Council to adopt these updated sections in accordance with the changes of the law of the State of Illinois; and

   WHEREAS, it is necessary for the usual daily operation of the municipality and for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and general welfare of the municipality that this ordinance takes effect at an early date;

   NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSCOLA, DOUGLAS COUNTY, ILLINOIS, THAT:

   Section 1. The 2018 S-35 supplement to the code of Ordinances of the City of Tuscola as submitted by American Legal Publishing Corporation of Cincinnati, Ohio and as attached hereto, be and the same is hereby adopted by reference as if set out in its entirety.

   Section 2. The City Clerk of the City of Tuscola is hereby authorized and directed to insert such supplement into the copy of the Code of Ordinances kept on file in the Office of the City Clerk.

   Section 3. Severability. Should any part of this Ordinance be declared invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such declaration shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of the Ordinance.

   Section 4. Publication in Pamphlet Form. The City Clerk shall cause notice to be published in a newspaper of general circulation within the County that this Ordinance has been adopted and that copies are available upon request to the City Clerk. In addition, copies of the ordinance shall be posted in the City Hall and the Community Building. The publication shall be made within fifteen (15) days of the adoption of this Ordinance.

   Section 5. Effective Date. The Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
