(A) Location. All wells, springs, suction lines and other drinking water supplies shall be located at least 50 feet and in the case of public or commercial places at least 75 feet, from any seepage pit, cesspool, privy, septic tank, sub-surface disposal system, county drain or other source of contamination. All wells shall be located so as to be protected from flooding and the area immediately adjacent to the well shall be graded to drain surface water away from the well. No well, water suction line or other water structure shall be located within ten feet of any sewer. All sewers within the ten- to 50-foot area of the casing or suction line of a well used at a public or commercial place, shall be constructed of cast iron with leaded joints or other material and joints which may be approved by the State Department of Health.
(B) Well construction. All wells shall be constructed and protected in compliance with State Department of Health water supply standards.
(C) Cross-connection. There shall be no physical connection or provisions for such connections between water supply systems that are safe for domestic use and those that are unsafe or may become unsafe for such use.
