§ 2-1-4 ELECTION OFFICIALS.
   (a)   Number.
      (1)   Pursuant to the state statutes, there is hereby established a set of election officials to conduct all elections in the village, which shall consist of three election inspectors. However, the Village Administrator, Clerk, or highest elected official, as appropriate, shall have the authority to increase the number of election officials, not to exceed seven. The Village Administrator, Clerk, or highest elected official, as appropriate, shall determine in advance of each election whether the number of election officials for such election should be increased from the number prescribed by this section, and if such an increase is so determined, the Village Administrator, Clerk, or highest elected official, as appropriate, shall redistribute duties among the officials.
      (2)   The number of poll workers and election officials is to be determined prior to each election by the Village Clerk and Chief Election Inspector for the village to allow for a temporary change in the number of poll workers and election officials based upon practical necessity.
   (b)   Appointments.
      (1)   Appointments shall be made in accordance with the provisions of Wis. Stats. § 7.30(4).
      (2)   Pursuant to Wis. Stats. § 6.55(6), the Board of Trustees for the village does hereby provide that any of the registration duties of inspectors under Wis. Stats. § 6.55(2) shall be carried out in the village by special registration deputies appointed by the Village Clerk at any polling place or other registration location at such time as deemed necessary by the Village Clerk to carry out the process of registration, as provided in Wis. Stats. § 6.55(2). Such deputies shall be specially appointed by the Village Clerk for one election only to conduct elector registration.
   (c)   Duties. The election officials shall carry out the duties specifically assigned to them by the election laws of the state, and in particular, those contained within the provisions of Wis. Stats. Chapter 7.
