The objectives of the D District are:
(A) Enhance efforts aimed at economic development by fostering an environment conducive to business success in the downtown area;
(B) Generate pride and confidence in the downtown area;
(C) Create an attractive environment that is active throughout the day and evening;
(D) Maintain a consistently high level of architectural design quality that respects the historical context that has been established; and
(E) Encourage pedestrian activity by facilitating building design that caters to and facilitates pedestrian shopping. Main building entrances should face the street and parking lots should be placed to the rear or to the side of buildings.
