6-1-6: BARBED WIRE AND ELECTRIC FENCES:
   A.   It shall be unlawful for any person to erect or maintain any electric fence or any fence constructed in whole or in part of barbed wire, or to use barbed wire as a guard to any parking lot or parcel of land. (1968 Code)
   B.   This provision shall not apply to property which had such fencing when this provision was originally passed, nor to properties having such fencing when annexed into the city.
   C.   Permits to erect such fencing may be granted by the city council upon a showing that:
      1.   The applicant has an important purpose in seeking the permit;
      2.   Issuing the permit will not adversely affect adjoining property or the residents thereof;
      3.   If needed by grazing, that the applicant has the appropriate amount of land to make it suitable for grazing;
      4.   The fence will be as attractive as possible; and
      5.   The fence will not create an unsafe condition. (Ord. 334, 9-22-1997)
