There is created the position of Building Inspector. This employee shall be subject to provisions regarding city employees. The Building Inspector shall be responsible for administering the building codes, zoning codes, property maintenance codes and such other duties presented by the Mayor and City Council. Unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, any reference within this code or ICC type codes to a “zoning administrator” or “code administrator” shall be a reference to the Building Inspector. The Building Inspector shall supervise the other employees involved in the administration of such codes, rules and regulations. The Building Inspector shall possess and maintain the qualifications and credentials required by law. The Building Inspector shall report to the City Administrator.
