(A) The Chief of Police shall be in charge of the operation of the Department and shall be responsible for the discipline and demeanor of the police force. The Chief shall see that all police officers carry out their duties and responsibilities in a proper and efficient manner. The Chief shall exercise all powers and duties granted to a department head by the personnel rules and regulations for town employees, as same may be amended from time to time. All personnel actions taken by the Chief shall be in accordance with those rules and regulations, as may be supplemented by general regulations, adopted exclusively for the Police Department.
(B) Any officer may appeal any action of the Chief not in keeping with the town personnel policies or the other general rules and regulations of the Police Department in accordance with the procedures outlined in the personnel rules and regulations for town employees.
