(a) Retired law enforcement officers of the City of Trotwood, whom the Chief of Poice has determined are City of Trotwood Ohio Retired Law Enforcement Officers, may apply for and be issued retired law enforcement officer identification cards.
(b) All retired law enforcement officer identification cards shall meet the following requirements:
(1) Contain the name, address, date of birth, social security number, date of retirement and a current (within 30 days of the date of issuance of the card) photograph of the retired law enforcement officer.
(2) The identification card shall contain the following language:
“The Trotwood Police Department issued this identification card to (name) because he/she has retired as a law enforcement officer with this agency. The Trotwood Police Department does not, in any way, certify that (name) is a qualified law enforcement officer pursuant to 18 U.S.C. §926C. This identification card, alone, DOES NOT permit the holder to carry a concealed weapon without a separate concealed firearm certification”.
(c) Law enforcement officers who currently hold a retired law enforcement identification card issued by the City of Trotwood, Ohio shall not receive a card issued pursuant to this section until such time as the retired officer turns over to the City of Trotwood the card they currently hold. A new retired law enforcement officer identification card shall not be issued until the existing card is returned and the card destroyed.
