§ 32.046 CHIEF OF POLICE; TERM OF OFFICE.
   The Police Department shall be headed by a Chief of Police who shall be appointed and commissioned by the City Council. The Police Department shall have such personnel as may be authorized in the annual budget of the City. The Chief of Police shall be a certified peace officer in the State of Texas and shall satisfy the minimum requirements established by the laws and regulations of the State of Texas for such position. The Chief of Police shall further satisfy and maintain the training and qualifications established, from time to time, by the City Council.
