§ 31.001 ELECTION AND TERMS.
   (A)   The three Council members elected on the first Tuesday in April 1955 shall serve a term of one year or until their successors are elected and qualified. Their successors shall be elected at a general city election on 4-21-1956, for a term of two years. Thereafter, three Council members shall be elected on the first Tuesday in April of each odd year.
   (B)   The Mayor and two Council members elected on the first Tuesday in April 1955 shall serve for two-year terms or until their successors are elected and qualified. Their successors shall be elected at the general city election on the first Tuesday in April 1957 and, thereafter, on the first Tuesday in April of even years.
   (C)   Immediately after the passage and approval of this section, the five Council members shall decide by lot which three Council members shall hold for the one-year term and which two Council members shall hold office for the two-year term.
