(a) The position of Court Security Officer for the Trenton Mayor's Court is created and established by this section.
(b) The position is a part-time position within the structure of the Trenton City Ordinances. The security officer of the Mayor's Court shall be hired by the Mayor of the City of Trenton. The security officer shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor.
(c) The compensation for the security officer shall be a range of seventy-five dollars ($75.00) per court session to one hundred dollars ($100.00) per court session.
(d) The Court Security Officer shall be OPOTA certified or its equivalent and must be legally able to carry a weapon above and beyond any CCW license. The ideal candidate would be a retired law enforcement officer or current law enforcement officer who retains his certification.
(e) The Security Officer is required to attend every court session and may be excused only by the Mayor.
(f) While Court is in session, the security officer shall be under the control and supervision of the Magistrate.
