The Department of Safety shall have and perform such functions relative to fire and police protection and others, as may be assigned by the administrative code or by order of the City Manager. The head of this Department shall be designated as the Director of Safety.
The Fire Chief or Police Chief shall have the right to appeal to Council in writing within ten (10) days of his dismissal by the City Manager and may be reinstated by a two-thirds affirmative vote of the members of Council. These two positions will not have the right to appeal to the Personnel Board.
