(A) Every officer of the village, whether elected or appointed, shall before entering upon the duties of office take and subscribe an oath or affirmation which may be substantially in the following form:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Illinois and will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of of the Village of Tremont, Illinois, according to the best of my ability. |
(B) This oath or affirmation shall be filed with the Village Clerk, when subscribed.
