§ 93.066 TRANSPORTATION OF EXPLOSIVES.
   (A)   No vehicle shall be used for the transportation of explosives within the village unless it shall be in good mechanical condition. Such vehicles shall have a closed body or such body shall be covered with a tarpaulin or other effective protection against moisture and sparks.
   (B)   Every vehicle while carrying explosives shall have painted on every side and rear in letters at least four inches in height the word “EXPLOSIVES” or, in lieu thereof, shall display in such manner that it will be visible from all directions a red flag with the word “DANGER” printed, stamped or sewed thereon in white letters at least six inches in height.
   (C)   It shall be unlawful for any person to place or carry or cause to be placed or carried any metal, metal tools, oils, matches, firearms, electric storage batteries, flammable substances, acids, oxidizing or corrosive compounds in the bed or body of a vehicle containing explosives.
   (D)   No vehicle carrying explosives shall be parked or permitted to stand anywhere within the village longer than is necessary to make a lawful delivery. However, the standing of such vehicle made necessary by mechanical trouble, traffic conditions, accident or in obedience to the direction of a police officer or traffic signal shall not be considered a violation of this section.
   (E)   Whenever a vehicle carrying explosives or flammable liquids is disabled within the village, warning flags or lights shall be posted and it shall be unlawful to permit any vehicle carrying explosives to remain unattended at any such time.
   (F)   It shall be unlawful to operate any vehicle carrying explosives or flammable liquids on any street within the village that is so slippery because of ice, snow or from any other cause as to be unsafe for driving.
   (G)   It shall be unlawful for any person including the driver, operator, attendant or any helper of a vehicle containing explosives or flammable liquids to smoke or hold any lighted cigar, cigarette or pipe in, upon or near such vehicle carrying flammable liquids or explosives while it is being operated, loaded or unloaded; or to drive or to load such vehicle in a careless or reckless manner.
   (H)   The provisions of this section relating to the transportation of explosives shall not apply to the transportation of ammunition by the Armed Forces of the United States or of the state, or by law enforcement officers in the performance of their duties.
